This Sea Bass rig is my favorite for wreck or reef fishing for sea bass or other species hanging around. I’ve even caught big 22″ flounder on this rig!
This high/low rig has 4/0 hooks and a 50# leader. Just tie the swivel to your main line, attach a weight, and drop it to the bottom! Each dropper loop has a “T” knot to keep it tangle free in high current.
When I fish this rig, I typically will start out with an 8oz bank sinker and adjust up if the current is strong. My bait of choice is calamari squid but if I don’t have that, salted clams are a close second choice.
**Although this rig is meant for sea bass, many other fish will bite it. This rig is also great for pier fishing, but I would not recommend it for surf fishing.
